Today is the Life Christian Church Roma Annual General Meeting. After our worship service concludes we take a few moments to grab a cuppa and then we reconvene for the Annual General Meeting or AGM. What is an AGM? The main purpose of an AGM is to fulfil the legal requirements of an organisation such as the selection of office bearers and to present financial and department reports. Our AGM is a snapshot in time where we take stock of where we have been and get excited about where we are going! As much as an AGM is a necessary formality it is also a great time to celebrate what God is doing in our midst.
Across every measurable church health indicator LCCR is extremely strong. I am pleased to announce that due to our ongoing focus on being generous towards God’s house our finances remain very strong and have us well positioned to take the next step in our game changing faith journey together. I am pleased to announce that due to our focus on discipleship and raising up new leaders, we have enjoyed several seamless leadership transitions in the last 12 months. I am also pleased to announce the number of people at LCCR actively engaged in ministry and mission is extraordinary and every time someone needs to step off team for a season or moves location, we have energetic volunteers waiting to fill the gap. That to me is very exciting but no accident! While other volunteer organisations struggle to maintain the status quo in an increasingly transient and self-orientated environment our church continues to buck the trend. Our people get it. We have a church full of amazing people desiring to do something eternal with their lives and make a difference in their generation. What we do isn’t about us! We have a church committed to the great commission of reaching our world for Jesus and we continue to push the boundaries of what it means to be ‘a church for those not here yet’. While there is one person in Roma without a revelation of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, we have a job to do. That said, we have never been in a stronger position to Bring Jesus to Roma and Roma to Jesus.
